Thanks Ann, I’m glad you got some mileage out of it. I have made a screenprint of the whole alphabet all on one A2 sheet. One day I’d like to get a few printed and see if I can sell some.
Actually I turned it into a book and last week I showed it to a few publishers at the Bologna book fair. They were pretty positive, but said it’s not publishable. It’s not a children’s book and they wouldn’t know what category to put it into in Waterstones.

I remember many many years ago The Times on Sunday (I think) did a piece on names used by people with the surname Smith.
The ones which stick in my mind were Fried Onions, and Baby Darling.
Just don’t go there!!!!
BTW, having posted your wordless alphabet at school on the “Blackboard” (the front end of the school internet access system)we have just this week reached “Z”. It has been endlessly entertaining and caused much comment and discussion among pupils and staff alike. I was going to try to take a photo of the dispay version on the wall to send to you but I laminated the letters and the reflection off them is terible!!!

Did you know that children’s book author and illustrator Mini Grey was named by the same method? (Or possibly she was born in a mini rather than conceived there, I forget the exact details).
