Also Scarlet Johanssen [sic] did a reasonable album of Waits covers and try Madeline Peyroux who also covers a few Waits songs as well as some of Leonard Cohens. Why do you think I started listening to Jazz...as an antidote to all the miserablist stuff. Try some Buck Clayton, Charlie Mingus or Count Basie. I know the feeling.
