I get lots of emails asking me to insert ads for spurious junk into this blog, but I don't believe in it. If you enjoy this blog and would like to 'pay' something then you could buy one of my books, review it on Amazon, or buy me a book from my Amazon wish list. To those who have done this, I am very grateful. Thanks.

Weren’t we all?
Will there be a variation on this theme for June 9th?
Hi Mike
This is not a comment on the entry above, but I wasn’t sure of alternative contact.
I have been a huge fan since I first discovered your blog back when you were on the boat. You were kind enough to let me use your alphabet with my graphics students at school, the whole school were fascinated and impressed by them. When you bought out The Hundred Decker Bus I got a copy for a small cousin who loved it.
So, when I went to New York recently to visit my daughter and was invited to spend a day with her at the school where she works with pre schoolers I bought a copy for them. My daughter has just texted me saying she meant yo text a while ago to let me know
“. Hundred decker bus
HUUUUGGGGEEEEE hit
I read it 2 weeks ago. After that Zoe showed everybody who came into the room it.
Her grandma came in from Chicago.
First thing…”look at this book!
It’s as long as our rest mats! ”
Had to do a wee bit of translation but they got it ”
So you are not only a hit in the UK, but also in New York.
Thought you’d like to know.
All the best
Ann
Ann, thanks for that, I’m absolutely chuffed! It’s great to hear that The Hundred Decker bus went down so well. Perhaps I’ll get some sales in the States! It’s all word of mouth with that book — it’s not in any bookshops, and after it was published it disappeared into a black hole. So it’s thanks to people like you that it’s actually doing reasonably well. I hope your daughter’s school get a lot of use out of it. I’ve recently added a page to this website with some ideas for activities related to the story.
Also, how amazing that you’ve hung around this blog for so long. I remember the alphabet pictures very well. It seems a long time ago. I made a book of those too but no-one wanted to publish it, sadly.
Thanks so much for getting in touch again.
Dave, I was awake all night that night too, but for entirely different reasons!
Oh, I should also add: to anyone who reads any of my books and likes them, please consider leaving a review on Amazon. Much as I dislike Amazon, it is basically the only way I can sell them.
