I get lots of emails asking me to insert ads for spurious junk into this blog, but I don't believe in it. If you enjoy this blog and would like to 'pay' something then you could buy one of my books, review it on Amazon, or buy me a book from my Amazon wish list. To those who have done this, I am very grateful. Thanks.

Just discovered your site this morning (via mumsnet) and very glad I did. Particularly like this one. Wondering if it’s a coincidence that the plane going down and volcano erupting have been drawn over the last few days before Mothers Day. For me, regrettably, there is usually a last minute, panicked, ‘Mayday, mayday – need to do something for Mothers Day, haven’t done anything yet…’ quality to the final countdown.
Cheers, Oli.
Thanks for that Oli. Sorry for the delay in posting the comment.
No it wasn’t quite that bad re the plane and mother’s day! Although it was a last minute effort. We made a cake. In my mind I had Calvin and Hobbes when I drew the plane. This is very much indebted to Bill Watterson!
No worries. Believe it or not, on reflection on that post, or picture, I did in fact think of Calvin and Hobbes, and in particular think of the strip with the train crash / earthquake / gas explosion. Exactly ten years after Bill retired, I have discovered your excellent work. Happy days.
